Acknowledgement of Raw Milk

I understand that the milk provided through my herd share ownership at Compton Family Farm Dairy VA, LLC is raw (unpasteurized) goat milk.

Raw milk has not undergone pasteurization, which is a process used to reduce or eliminate certain microorganisms that may be present in milk.

Understanding of Potential Health Risks

I acknowledge that raw milk may contain naturally occurring bacteria including, but not limited to:

• Salmonella
• Escherichia coli (E. coli)
• Listeria monocytogenes
• Campylobacter

These bacteria may pose a higher health risk to certain individuals including:

• young children
• pregnant women
• elderly individuals
• persons with compromised immune systems

Voluntary Assumption of Risk

I understand the potential risks associated with consuming raw milk and voluntarily choose to consume raw milk obtained through my herd share ownership.

I accept full responsibility for any decisions regarding the consumption of raw milk by myself, my household, or any individuals to whom I provide the milk.

Release of Liability

By signing this document, I agree to release, hold harmless, and indemnify:

Compton Family Farm Dairy VA, LLC, its owners, employees, agents, and representatives

from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from or related to the consumption, handling, or use of raw milk obtained through the herd share program.

By signing below, I confirm that:

• I have read and understand this document
• I understand the potential risks associated with consuming raw milk
• I voluntarily accept those risks
