Farm Service Policies

At Compton Family Farm & Dairy, we are committed to providing safe and efficient livestock services. The following policies help ensure the safety of animals, handlers, and farm staff while allowing appointments to run smoothly.

Animal Containment

All livestock must be properly contained and accessible prior to the scheduled service appointment.

Animals should be in a secure pen, stall, or handling area where they can be safely caught and restrained. Services may be delayed or refused if animals are loose, difficult to catch, or unsafe to handle.

If additional time is required to catch or restrain animals, additional fees may apply.

Animal Temperament & Safety

For the safety of both animals and handlers, livestock must be reasonably manageable for routine farm handling. Animals that pose a safety risk due to aggression, extreme stress, or unsafe conditions may not be serviced.

The owner or caretaker may be required to assist with restraint when necessary.

Appointment Scheduling

When scheduling a service appointment, please provide:

  • The type of service requested

  • The number of animals requiring service

  • Your farm location

  • Any relevant information about the animals

Providing accurate information allows us to schedule the appropriate amount of time for your appointment.

Travel & Farm Visits

Services are performed on-site at the animal’s location. Travel availability may vary depending on distance and scheduling.

Additional travel fees apply for traveling.

Biosecurity

To protect the health of all livestock, basic biosecurity practices are followed during farm visits. We ask that clients notify us in advance if animals on the property are experiencing contagious illness or disease concerns.

Appointments may be rescheduled if there is a risk of spreading illness between farms.

Veterinary Disclaimer

Compton Family Farm & Dairy provides livestock management services based on practical farming experience.

We are not veterinarians and do not provide veterinary medical services. Any procedures performed are considered routine livestock management practices.

If an animal is experiencing illness, injury, infection, or other medical concerns, a licensed veterinarian should be consulted.

Right to Refuse Service

Compton Family Farm & Dairy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service if conditions are unsafe, animals are not properly contained, or if the situation falls outside the scope of routine livestock management services.
